What do I do with left over flooring after the installation?

You have left over flooring after the job is completed and not sure what to do with it? Your first thought may be to return it but DON’T! Why?
Flooring (regardless of type) is manufactured in runs or dye lots just like fabric and many other things. Chances are you will never be able to match it a few months after the installation, much less a year or more.
Having left over material on hand can come in handy if you damage a few pieces or a small area. This could SAVE you hundreds of dollars and keep you from having to replace the entire job years down the road.
Many times too much flooring was ordered and in some cases an unscrupulous installer will take it with them so THEY can return it and get the money that YOU paid for it. This is not the norm with someone reputable, but it does happen. Make sure it doesn’t happen to you!
Having 3-4 cartons of matching material on hand in the future is a GOOD THING when considering the cost of the entire job!
